Didn't think it was possible to be shocked, embarrassed, bemused, desperate, intrigued, hopeful, optimistic, relieved, astounded, and proud in that order in ONE football match. If any of the away fans that stayed after four nil read this, I salute your faith in our topsy turvy uniquely wonderful and frustrating team Living in Manhattan at the moment isn't much fun at the moment.

Arsenal and Reading you cheered me right up. Thanks guys what a great game. Comment posted by Momothecommittedone, at 30 Oct Momothecommittedone.

Brilliant comeback aside, i can't help thinking.. We knew Arsenal would go on the offensive and throw the kitchen sink at Reading and they just let them! Apart from Pogrebnyak's goal Reading did very little to defend their lead. Bitterly disappointed for them. Quick shoutout to Jason Roberts - He bullied the back four. As an Arsenal fan, I think that was one of those games that you just can't read too much into. Our defensive collapse in the opening half was woeful, but other than that, trying to extract any meaningful conclusions is pretty pointless.

Just one of those games you have to watch and enjoy or not in my case for the first 45 minutes!! Comment posted by aaronellis, at 30 Oct aaronellis.

Would be interested to know what odds were offered on an Arsenal win after about 40 mins! Are reading fans complaining about the 95min goal?? You was there is not excuse. The ref stopped the watch because he realized you were trying to waste time with subs. Comment posted by U, at 31 Oct U Only 2 of the starters last night, started against Schalke last week.

Many hadn't played an actual competetive game for months, Damian Martinez is Arsenal's 4th choice keeper! So this isn't really representative of the first team the team that will face Utd on saturday. Forget all the negativity and point-scoring amongst fans - celebrate it for what it was, a tremendously exciting game of football. So many people saying "hope Arsenal defend like this against Utd on Saturday". Absolute fifrst class from the best footballing team in the league tonight, best weve played this season, i cannot believe were not challenging for the title, why cant arsenal do this every week, a few quality signings in january and this season could actually be the 1 perhaps!

Carzola world class son. Is the cry still: ' Wenger out'? Or will that die down until the next defeat in a match Arsenal are expected to win? Media shoulders most of the blame. The wheels have fallen off, what other bad stories can we make up.

Walcott look ed happy Write off Wenger is showing ignorance of football imo. Comment posted by football entertainment, at 17 Dec football entertainment. It doesn't matter whatsoever which team, we beat I'm a gooner , a win is a win.

We could have lost to Reading battle to relegation. Arsenal were great for about an hour, then a bit weary for 15 minutes, then good again for the rest of it. It doesn't make up for the Bradford performance and in fact it only reaffirms the criticism that Wenger should have played more of the youngsters in that game, but it's back-to-back league wins and an improved performance so I'll take it. Cracking game last night! Could come on here and say things about the Arsenal defence conceding but if you're scoring 5 and look like you could socre double that if you upped it another gear then what's the problem?

Proper entertaining football from Arsenal as we've come to expect and enjoy over the years. Good show! Comment posted by Garfy, at 18 Dec Garfy. Hyperbole again at the BBC! I remember the 'good old days' when a result like the one against Bradford was a "Giant Killing' for them and an 'upset' for Arsenal.

That's a crisis many clubs would be delighted with! It's pretty amazing how you criticise a team for ONLY winning by 3 goals when there was no onus at all on them to go out and win by more.

Can't get carried away with that performance. Feel really sorry for Reading, but they looked very poor today, look like they are on course for relegation. Wenger still HAS to strengthen our squad. Never thought we were in crisis but our performance against Bradford was still woeful. Chamakh was seen tracking back for the fullbacks and laying up play for Walcott and Giroud with unnerving calm.

Giroud and Eisfield came on for Frimpong and Gnabry and the formation changed to a and at times Though it might have been against a much weakened defense, Giroud was able to inject the much required pace and class into the frontline. Eisfield looks like another bright prospect for Arsenal, as the 19 year old was able to change the pace of attacks with his brilliant distribution from midfield. The second goal was scored late in the dying moments when he was the only player in the opposition half.

Though this game might go down as a 12 goal classic, Arsene Wenger will be much more relieved than proud. A positive thought for the Gunners might be the fact that none of the players in midfield or defense will be starting against Manchester United on Saturday, and Damien Martinez will not be even on the bench for quite some time. Reading though can take little satisfaction from their attacking display. Their 3 strikers Hunt, Roberts and Pogrebniak are sure to get them goals, but McDermott will have to steady his defensive department, particularly down the left where Walcott wrecked havoc.
