Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 not working

Programs that have crippled scrolling Torque X Dragon Age My guess is basically anything that doesn't load default windows scrolling fucntions I also noticed that this mouse has three clicks for the scroll wheel: left, middle and right click.

But you can only set the functions of the middle click. I was wondering if there was any way to change what the left and right middle click buttons do. This thread is locked. Santosh Y. In reply to Umesh P's post on December 10, Hi Buri13, The programs which you have mentioned are games. Regards, Santosh Y - Microsoft Support. In reply to Santosh Y's post on December 10, Hello, I just wanted to thank you both for your replies.

Now, I have tried reinstalling and have had no luck with that. I have tried fidling with the mouse settings in the game and in the control pannel, neither have worked. I have even tried disabling the scroll wheel, which works for windows based programs but even with the mouse scroll wheel disabled it is still usable in those programs.

This is why I am convinced that this has something to do with a driver or perhaps a missing file; I am not sure. The reason that I did not post this problem on EA's or GarageGames' forums is because I never had any issues with my previous mouse.

The behaviour of the mouse on connection is consistent: it shows a steady green when the dongle is re-connected or I press the re-connect button underneath. At one point I also connected the dongle to my laptop where I again got a green light but only the keyboard worked. Please do let us know if the software update made a difference. Also, were there any recent changes made to your computer prior to the issue?

Windows update, software or hardware installation, etc. On Friday the mouse did not work for about 10 minutes then suddenly came to life. Yesterday all was working fine but today it is dead again. Let's further isolate the issue with your Microsoft wireless mouse.

Do you have any other mouse software that is installed on your computer? If yes, kindly uninstall it because it may conflict with the Mouse and Keyboard Center. To do so, refer to the steps under Uninstall desktop apps you no longer need in this article: Tips to free up drive space on your PC. If you don't have any other mouse software installed on your PC, try to uninstall and reinstall the Mouse and Keyboard Center , then check if the issue persists.

The mouse is not working again this evening. I have removed the mouse remove device and rebooted: the mouse reappeared under Devices but still does not work.

I am reading the same or similar problems on other forums where users are concluding 'take out the batteries and leave it for thirty minutes; put the batteries back in and hey presto'. The lack of logic in this 'solution' is not lost on me.

Have you tried removing your batteries for a while? If not, try it. It's actually one of the troubleshooting methods that are available for your concern. If the issue still persists after that, try to use different batteries.

It's possible that the issue is with the power stability of the batteries that you are currently using. Yesterday the mouse just stopped working. I changed the batteries, pressed the reconnect button, pulled out the USB dongle and re-inserted it, tried a cold boot - nothing. I searched around for answers but found nothing relevant. I connected up a USB mouse we have for the laptop. Vista Picture-viewer is not only one. I tried Picasa2 and BreezeBrowser too.

In these two programs the wheel change the picture to the next one. Again it is very hard to view a next or previous picture, because I have to roll so fast before it takes any effect. Then I downloaded excellent xnView and with it my wheel work like it should. With XP all programs work with this mouse without problems. Opera 9. When scollin up the window, it first scrolls down and then jumps up right the direction I want.

Not a very big problems, but there is something wrong with this Wireless laser Mouse and Vista-combination. I use Intellimouse-software, but it not helped, when I removed it. I have Vista Ultimate x Sunday, February 18, PM. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32bit and I can't get the mouse to move the cursor, though the buttons seem to work.

I plug the mouse into another machine MacOS, heresy, I know Anyone else had this problem? Friday, February 23, AM. I still have problems with wheel. I have readed that all other users of MS wireless lasermouse has similar problems. But there is not a solution yet? Sunday, March 11, PM.
